GCSE Results: Ark Charter Students Celebrate GCSE Success
Students and staff at Ark Charter Academy are celebrating today as GCSE results continue the school's strong upward trajectory, marking a third consecutive year of successful outcomes for young people across Portsmouth. The results reflect the hard work, resilience and determination shown by students, supported by dedicated staff and families throughout their secondary education.
The results build on the school's recent successes and reinforce Ark Charter's reputation for high expectations, strong pastoral care and academic ambition. Over the past three years, the school has established a consistent pattern of improvement, ensuring increasing numbers of students leave Year 11 ready to progress on to A Levels, vocational qualifications and apprenticeships.
Principal Christian Down said:
"I am incredibly proud of every student collecting their results today. These outcomes represent much more than examination grades. They are the result of years of commitment, perseverance and determination from our young people, supported by families and the hard work of our staff team.
This is now the third consecutive year in which students at Ark Charter have achieved strong outcomes, demonstrating the culture of aspiration and achievement that exists throughout our school. Every student should feel proud of what they have accomplished and excited about the opportunities that now lie ahead of them."
Among the highest-performing students this year were:
Millie Cregan, who achieved an outstanding set of results including Grade 9 in English Literature, Grade 8 in English Language, Grade 7 in Mathematics, Grade 9-9 in Combined Science, Grade 9 in History and Grade 9 in Religious Education, alongside a number of other top grades.

Mr Down added:
"At Ark Charter we believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point. Today's results are a testament to that belief. We look forward to seeing our students flourish as they move on to colleges, sixth forms, apprenticeships and employment, and we wish them every success for the future."
Ark Charter Academy continues to build on its strong reputation as a school where pupils are known, valued and challenged to achieve their very best. The school remains committed to providing an ambitious education, exceptional pastoral support and the highest aspirations for every child.
